Voting ends in local elections across Türkiye, counting process starts

Polling for Türkiye's local elections concludes, and the counting process begins, with over 61 million voters eligible to vote in the country's 81 provinces.

Voting in the 32 eastern provinces started at 7 a.m. local time and ended at 4 p.m. Polls in the remaining provinces opened at 8 a.m. and closed at 5 p.m.

Erdoğan accuses 'global alliance' of targeting Türkiye

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused a "global alliance" of complicity in oppression in various parts of the world, alleging they also had Türkiye in their sights.

"Whatever step we took in Syria, Libya and Karabakh, we found a global alliance against us," Erdoğan said during a rally speech in northwestern province of Bursa on March 28 ahead of this weekend's elections.

New family fund to prioritize women, youth in quake region: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced the prioritization of women and young people in the southern quake-hit region of Türkiye through a newly established fund aimed at "supporting the family institution and safeguarding young people against social risks."

The president made these remarks during a ceremony in Adıyaman, where 2,798 new homes were handed over to beneficiaries.
