Pahor meets Erdogan on sidelines of UN General Assembly
New York, 22 September – President Borut Pahor, who is in New York for the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, held several bilateral meetings on Tuesday, including with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss cooperation, Afghanistan and migrations. He also attended an event marking 30 years of Slovenia’s independence.

Janša presents SDS’s terms for cooperation in next coalition
Krško – The head of the ruling coalition Democrats (SDS) and Prime Minister Janez Janša commented at the party’s regional meeting in Leskovec pri Krškem on Saturday on a possible new coalition, saying that the SDS did not exclude anyone but that it did have certain conditions such as that all partners work for the common good rather than own interests.
Appeal to anti-graft watchdog to check PM’s contacts with lobbyists
Ljubljana – The opposition-controlled Commission for Oversight of Public Finances has asked the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption to check the records of Prime Minister Janez Janša’s contacts with lobbyists after a media reported that he had played golf on several occasions with the owner of a medical devices supplier.

Janša and Lithuanian president call for aid to Lithuania in face of migration
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda have called on EU member countries to provide aid to Lithuania in the face of “ongoing critical security situation” on the Lithuanian-Belarus border due to illegal migration.
