Prime Ministers of Romania
The leadership of the National Liberal Party (PNL, in opposition) tendered their collective resignation this Monday, but outgoing Crin Antonescu is to hold the position of the party's interim chairman until a congress is organized, political sources told AGERPRES.
According to these sources, the party's congress is to take place within the shortest possible time.
National Liberal Party (PNL) Chairman Crin Antonescu thanked all the voters in the European Parliament elections after the poll closed on Sunday evening; he had a special mention for his Liberal fellows, who fought a difficult campaign, with PNL targeted by various diversions, but getting stronger out of it.
With less than two months to go before European elections, the parties in Romania have designated their candidates for the elections on 25 May, offering most of the positions to standing MEPs.
Romania will have 32 mandates in the future European Parliament, compared to 33 at present.
