Today marks 138 years since the declaration of independence of Eastern Rumelia from the Ottoman Empire and its union with the Principality of Bulgaria. In major cities throughout the country, the Bulgarian flag will be solemnly raised, military rituals will be performed and wreaths will be laid in memory of the dead.

Today Bulgarians celebrate 136 years from the Unification of Bulgaria.

6th of September is the day on which the actual unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia takes place. An act that gave the country of Bulgaria the right to return to its borders, lands, that historically belong to it.

Today Is the 111th Anniversary of Bulgaria's Declaration of Independence

The 111th anniversary of Bulgaria's declaration of independence is celebrated today. On that day in 1908, Prince Ferdinand proclaimed that Bulgaria was no longer a vassal principality of the Ottoman Empire. The political and financial dependence imposed on Bulgarians by European powers through the Berlin Treaty remains in the past.

Bulgaria Celebrates 134rd Anniversary Since Unification of Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia

Today, September 6, Bulgaria marks 134rd anniversary of the unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and the province of Eastern Rumelia. A number of formal events will take place throughout the country. The celebrations will culminate in Plovdiv, where the head of state, President Rumen Radev, will take part in a solemn ceremony at Saedinenie Square and will deliver a speech.
