EU Urged to Withdraw Child Abuse Law amid Privacy Concerns

The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), together with 72 NGOs and professional bodies, on Wednesday sent an open letter to the European Commission demanding it withdraw proposed child abuse legislation and replace it with a provision that secures privacy, security and free expression for all.

Access to Facebook and Instagram may be Suspended throughout Europe

If Meta (the parent company of Facebook and Instagram) is unable to transfer, store and process data from its European users on US-based servers, access to Facebook and Instagram could be suspended across Europe. The owner of the giant Mark Zuckerberg warned about this on social media in his annual report.

Record workload for Information Commissioner in 2020

Ljubljana – The Office of the Information Commissioner received a record number of applications, complaints and queries last year, according to the annual report submitted to the National Assembly.

A total of 565 complaints were received, and the number of requests for opinion rose by almost a third due to high demand for information about spending on public health measures.
