Migrants from Kosovo "find new route" in bid to reach EU

PRISTINA -- Ethnic Albanians continue to leave Kosovo in great numbers even after their departure via Merdare has been prevented.

Buses carrying immigrants headed for Hungary and on to other EU countries are no longer allowed to go via this administrative line crossing, located between Kosovo and central Serbia.

Djuric: 40 flats, 25 houses built in southern province

BELGRADE - The funds allocated by the Serbian government were used in Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) in the past eight months to build 25 houses and four buildings with more than 40 housing units and to complete 20 projects of repair and construction of local roads, Marko Djuric, director of the Serbian government's Office for KiM, said on Monday.

ORAHOVAC - Unidentified perpetrators have daubed graffiti reading "KLA" (Kosovo Liberation Army) and "Kosovo" within the courtyard of the Sveti Vracci (Holy Healers) Monastery in Zocciste, western Kosovo-Metohija, and the Diocese of Raska and Prizren of the Serbian Orthodox Church qualified this as a new provocation.

BELGRADE - Dignitaries of the main religious communities in Kosovo-Metohija condemned the recent acts of vandalism in the Decani Monastery.

They agreed that these despicable acts, followed also by some web attacks, were sought to undermine the inviolable principles of tolerance and reconciliation in Kosovo society.

Albanians demonstrate against arrival of displaced Serbs

PRISTINA - Several hundred ethnic Albanians in the Musutiste village in the south of Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) has blocked the passage to the local Orthodox church to prevent displaced Serbs from Suva Reka and the surrounding villages from getting there to celebrate the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God.
