The challenge of transparency

The digital modernization of the state has progressed at a rapid pace. The results have convinced us that with minimal (financial and political) costs, chronic problems can be eliminated. 

The electronic registry that is now being piloted in state procurements could prove to be yet another low-key but major leap toward transparency, if implemented correctly.

Manufacturing index at two-year lows

Greece's manufacturing sector, which accounts for 8% of the economy, posted in December the fastest decline of the last two years in production and new orders.

S&P Global's seasonally adjusted purchasing managers' index for the manufacturing sector in Greece (PMI) closed at 47.2 points in December, from 48.4 in November.

PMI declines in June

The latest Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) pointed to a challenging demand environment in the Turkish manufacturing sector, according to a survey conducted jointly by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) and S&P Global.

PMI remains steady at 49.2 in May

Turkey's headline Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was unchanged at 49.2 in May, S&P Global's monthly report showed yesterday.

The reading signalled a third successive moderation in the health of the manufacturing sector, albeit one that remained only marginal.

Any figure greater than 50.0 indicates overall improvement in the sector.

Manufacturing PMI falls

Turkey's headline Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the manufacturing industry eased to 49.2 in April, down from 49.4 in March, indicating a second successive monthly moderation in the health of the sector, the survey conducted jointy by S&P Global and the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) have shown.

Any figure greater than 50 indicates overall improvement of the sector.
