Bulgarians Are Increasingly Choosing their New Home to Be a House Rather than an Apartment

People in Bulgaria are increasingly choosing a home instead of an apartment for their new home. At least such a trend has been observed in recent statistics on commissioned dwellings. It turns out that between April and June, two out of every three commissioned new residential buildings are houses.

European Legal Experts Back Montenegro Religious Freedom Law

The Venice Commission, a Council of Europe advisory body made up of independent constitutional law experts, said on Monday that the draft religious freedom law was a step forward, but urged the Montenegrin government to organise consultations with the public, including representatives of religious communities, amid tensions with the Serbian Orthodox Church.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the first quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 635 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 453, reported the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

E-platform for Athens property registrations to go live

Property owners with homes or plots of land in the Municipality of Athens will be able to check their assets from Monday when the online platform for that area is to go live, as part of an ongoing process to complete the country's land register.

The checks are the second stage of a declaration process that began in 2008.
