Proposed secession of Republika Srpska

Bosnia took a small step toward unlocking the new EU initiative for the troubled country, after all MPs in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska voted for the declaration pledging support for Bosnia's continued EU accession process.

Bosnia's tripartite Presidency agreed and signed a new version of a joint declaration expressing the country's interest in European integration and its readiness to undertake all required activities in line with the EU reform agenda.

Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska, has told the French ambassador to Bosnia, Claire Bodonyi, that Bosnia's Serbian-dominated entity is preparing a "practical reply" to the EU reform plan for the country.

Bosnia's Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister, Boris Tucic, on Thursday said that he had resigned, citing mounting pressure to allow sales of Bosnian ammunition to Ukraine.

After last week's visit by the German and British foreign ministers, Bosnian leaders are mulling over a new text for the declaration that is supposed to set in motion a new EU plan for the troubled country, although two Serb political blocs are still in dispute over the issue. 
 

Croatian president "hopes to see Nikolic in Zagreb"

ZAGREB -- Croatia's new president has said she wishes that Serbia "takes the road toward EU membership," and also "hopes to see the Serbian president in Zagreb."

During an exclusive interview for the BHT1 broadcaster, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic also opined that Serbia "should take the step and recognize Kosovo."

BELGRADE - President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik has warned that a great number of Mujahideen from Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) have gone to fight in Syria, adding that the situation in the country is fragile and therefore calls for closer cooperation with regards to security issues.

Vucic, Dodik discuss "Bosnia's EU path, relations in region"

BANJALUKA - Director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric wished the citizens of the Republika Srpska (RS) a happy national holiday - Day of Republika Srpska - and urged them to show unity and solidarity with the southern Serbian province.
