New Sofia Renovation Plan Raises Turmoil

More car lines on the roads in the center of Sofia, a boat ride along the Perlovska River, as well as sport and recreational sites in one of the locations in the capital with most dust particles in Europe are among the key priorities of the project for renovation of Sofia's city center.

Close to 538 locations across the country had no electricity, as announced by the Interior Ministry's Press Office.

Two Bulgarians Fall Victim to Bad Weather Conditions

Two Bulgarians fell victims to the bad weather conditions in different parts of the country on Monday.

Thus the total number of victims increased to five after three snowboarders were killed by an avalanche in Pirin mountain on Sunday.

A man from the village of Gorna Kula, near the southern town of Krumovgrad, was found lying dead in the snow.

Edirne braces for flood with rapid flow rate increase

The levels of the Tundzha and Maritsa (Tunca and Meriç) rivers passing through the Turkish city of Edirne, which borders Bulgaria, have seen a sudden and rapid rise, with the local authorities taking measures against potential flooding.

The Tundzha and Maritsa continued to rise at an alarming rate on March 9, amid snowfall in neighboring Bulgaria and heavy rain gripping Edirne.
