Strong northerly winds disrupt shipping
Ships in various Greek ports were unable to dock on Saturday due to strong northerly winds that reached up to 9 on the Beaufort scale in certain parts of the Aegean Sea.
Rafina and Lavrio ports remained closed, as did the Rio-Antirio maritime route. In northern Greece, ships were unable to sail between Alexandroupoli and Samothraki, Kavala and Prino, and Keramoti and Thassos.

Two women arrested near the Bulgarian border for telephone fraud

Agricultural damage found to be far greater than Ianos
The Ministry of Rural Development and Food estimates that damage caused by the Daniel weather system to crop and animal production on the Thessaly Plain, a region famous for its agricultural production, will be three times worse than that which resulted from Ianos in 2020.
Some 73,000 hectares across Thessaly are under water, with 50,000-55,000 sown with cotton.

Ten people have died so far because of the storm 'Daniel' in central Greece, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias said on Friday, while another four are still missing in Volos and Mt. Pilio.
Four injured after shotgun fired in Larissa
Four people have been hospitalized with light injuries following an altercation in which a shotgun was fired in Larissa in Thessaly.
According to local news site Larissanet, police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the Nea Smyrni district of the city.

Section of Athens-Thessaloniki motorway closed due to flooding
All traffic on the Athens-Thessaloniki motorway from Nikea in Larissa to the border with Magnesia regional unit has been suspended due to flooding on the highway.
Thessaly regional police directorate ordered the road to be closed in both directions between the two points.
