Court rules in favor of Armenian foundations
The Constitutional Court has ruled that the refusal of the request for the return of the properties of two Armenian foundations, which had been taken over by the Treasury, violated their property rights and that a retrial should be held.

Ancient tumulus to bring in tourism
It has been reported that a 2,350-year-old tumulus, found during the surface surveys in the ancient city of Pygela in 2022 in the Kuşadası district of the western province of Aydın and surrounded by a 23.5-meter-long wall and will bring in tourism.

Military vehicle accident kills 2 soldiers
A collision between a military vehicle and a truck in the Central Anatolian province of Konya has killed two soldiers and wounded two others.
A military van belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces collided with a truck from behind on the Konya-Adana road, where there was heavy fog, on early Jan. 4.

German official suggests return of Pergamon Altar to Türkiye
Berlin's official in charge of anti-discrimination efforts, Saraya Gomis, has suggested the return of the Pergamon Altar to Türkiye, which was smuggled to Prussia in the 1870s and is currently on display in Berlin.
Kadıköy, Beşiktaş ‘most traveled places’
A taxi application has announced that the most traveled districts in Istanbul are Kadıköy and Ataşehir on the Anatolian side, and Beşiktaş and Şişli on the European side in 2022.
The highest number of trips took place around 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., while taxis were more preferred between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. on the weekends, according to BiTaksi's 2022 usage habits index.

Republic Day celebrated across country with ceremonies
Türkiye has celebrated the 99th anniversary of Republic Day with various ceremonies across the country.
Celebrations began with thousands' visit to Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Turkish Republic founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in the capital Ankara.
Over 100 irregular migrants held off İzmir
Turkish Coast Guard Command teams have caught 103 migrants trying to go abroad illegally off the Aegean province of İzmir and have rescued seven others, who were stranded at sea.

Ancient whistle found in Assos
During the excavations in the 7,000-year-old Assos ruins in Behramkale village, located in the Ayvacık district of the northwestern province of Çanakkale, a 2,000-year-old whistle has been unearthed around the Ayazma Church. Made of terracotta, the whistle was a child's toy in daily life, and they were put in children's graves as a burial gift believe the archaeologists.
