Libya's democratic steps based on dialogue and national consensus in the political process offered an important window of opportunity for permanent peace in the country, the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman said on March 6.
Turkey friend and ally to Libya: Interim PM
Libya's new Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh described Turkey as a "friend and ally," saying his government will work to achieve peace in war-torn Libya.
Dbeibeh's remarks came in an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, his first interview ever after being elected to lead an interim government.

Greece welcomes election of new interim government
Greece welcomed on Friday the election of a new transitional government for Libya which took place in Geneva supported by the UN Support Mission in Libya.
Mohammad Younes Menfi on Friday was elected the president of Libya's interim government, and Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibah the prime minister in the Presidency Council.

Ankara: Arab League remains silent on Libya crisis
The Arab League remains silent, unable to demonstrate determination in support of the legitimate government in Libya, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Dec. 31.
Turkey has long supported a political settlement in Libya and an end to attacks and the establishment of a complete ceasefire among the warring sides, spokesman Hami Aksoy said in a statement.
