Mother to stand trial for deaths of two more children

A woman on trial for the murder of her eldest daughter in 2022, will stand trial for the deaths of her youngest two daughters as well, her lawyer has said.

Alexis Kougias also announced that he had requested that his client, Roula Pispirigou, be evaluated by two psychiatrists to determine if she suffers from Munchausen syndrome.

More than 200 newsrooms, journalists, medical associations, psychotherapists, NGOs and civic figures in Romania have signed a letter of protest against what it called hate speech promoted by Romania TV, concerning the death of the journalist Iulia Marin, 32, at the beginning of this week.

‘114,000 autistic children affected by quakes’

Approximately 114,000 children with autism have been affected by the Feb. 6 earthquakes, an autism early diagnosis and education foundation has stated.

Autistic children are affected four times more than other children by the anxiety, fear, feelings of uncertainty and changes in the living spaces caused by the quakes, said Aylin Sezgin, the head of TOHUM foundation.

A 28-year-old pianist, Türkiye's first doctoral student with autism, has received great appreciation at his first concert, with audiences strongly applauding him for his remarkable performance.

Buğra Çankır, also known as the musical genius, was accompanied by the Ankara University Music and Fine Arts Orchestra for his concert in the capital Ankara.
