Customs enforcement team in Turkey have seized 13.29 kilograms (29.29 pounds) of cocaine in an operation in Istanbul airport, the Trade Ministry said on Sept. 21.

Police seized 42 kilograms of heroin and arrested six people in an operation conducted in the town of Komotini, northeastern Greece, on Friday.

The drugs were packaged in 81 parcels.

The suspects - foreign nationals aged between 29 and 53 - are reportedly members of two criminal gangs distributing large quantities of drugs from Turkey into Greece. 

Yesterday, the Tobacco giant British American Tobacco announced that it will lay off 2,300 employees globally by January, Reuters reported.
