France to savour new lifting of COVID restrictions

People in France will on June 9 be able to enjoy indoor dining and staying out until 11:00 pm for the first time in months under a new relaxation of COVID rules, as cases fall and vaccinations rise.   

In a key new phase of the programme relaxing the lockdown, diners will be able to go inside cafes and restaurants, terrace consumption having already resumed on May 19.

Turkey eases coronavirus curbs as vaccination drive continues

Turkey on May 31 eased some public gathering restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus.

Addressing reporters following a Cabinet meeting in the capital Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that a curfew will be imposed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays in June.

A full lockdown will be imposed on Sundays until further notice.

Turkey to start easing strict coronavirus lockdown tomorrow

The normalization stage began on May 17 and will continue until June 1, the country's Interior Ministry said on May 16.

Turkey imposed the full lockdown, which began on April 29, after the number of daily COVID-19 cases climbed to above 60,000 and the deaths from the outbreak also reached record highs.
