Stefanovic: Ministry can be run differently
BACKO GRADISTE - Over the past one hundred days, much has been done to demonstrate that the Serbian Ministry of Interior can be run differently, Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Sunday, noting that a large majority of the members of the police force are competent, responsible and honest people who want to fight corruption, crime and drug dealers.

Floods, Thunderstorms Wreak Havoc in the Balkans
Romania is still struggling with the aftermath of the torrential rains and the floods which hit the country on Tuesday and have already claimed five lives.
Some 1,200 people were evacuated from their homes due to the overflowing rivers, 2,200 houses were damaged by the floods, and 99 of them were completely destroyed, local media outlets reported.

8,000 Bulgarian Officers To Stage Major Traffic Police Raids
Bulgaria's Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Svetlozar Lazarov will launch major police raids on the roads countrywide every Friday and Saturday night.
Starting next Friday, some 8,000 police officers will take part in the special police operation. They will inspect all vehicles, focusing on areas near drinking and entertainment establishments, Bulgarian Trud informs.

Crimes rates dropped in the first semester of 2014 compared to the previous year, according to a police report released on Thursday.
