Police in Athens seek three detainees who cut through cell bars
Police on Thursday were seeking three Albanian men who escaped from a detention unit on Petrou Ralli Street shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
Two of the detainees were being held pending trial on drugs charges, the third for manslaughter.
A Georgian national also tried to escape with the three men but was caught.
Overhaul planned for undeclared labor fines
The government is planning an overhaul of fines on undeclared labor that will be reduced, but accompanied with the full payment of workers' contributions, Labor and Social Security Minister Effie Achtsioglou stated.

Four accused of torching US embassy receive suspended sentences
The Belgrade Higher Court has handed down suspended sentences of five and six months to four indictees charged with setting fire to the US embassy in 2008.
By the court's decision, three of those accused have been acquitted.
The sentences will not be enforced if the convicted persons refrain from committing new criminal offenses within two years.

Turkey's Council of State has stopped the execution of a regulation on chemical castration, which was introduced last year against sex offenders, on the grounds that it can "lead to hard-to-recover and unrepairable damages."
The Number of Prisoners Released Early this Year will be a Record
The early released this year will reach a record number. From the beginning of the year to July 21, prisoners released before serving their entire sentence were 632, according to Directorate-General for Execution of Penalties. If the pace persists, by the end of the year there will be another 451 people. This will lead to a record 1083.
