Turkish, German FMs speak on phone amid row
The Turkish and German foreign ministers spoke on the phone on July 22 amid a row between the NATO partners that has sharply worsened since the arrest of several rights activists in Istanbul, according to diplomatic sources.
The phone call between Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Sigmar Gabriel took place amid recent tension between Turkey and Germany.

Ankara police detain educators Gülmen and Özakça on 75th day of hunger strike
Police have detained two educators, Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who have been on hunger strike for 75 days in protest at being dismissed from their posts through a decree-law issued under the state of emergency rule in Turkey.
The special operation police have also searched their house and confiscated some belongings in a late night raid on May 21.

The Bosnian state court sentenced Branka Sekaric to a probation sentence of eight months for revealing the identity of a protected witness who testified at the war crimes trial of her husband Dragan Sekaric.

Germany To Expedite Deportation of Migrants
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the minister - presidents of German provinces have agreed on the accelerated deportation of migrants who have requested but have not received asylum status in the country.
The ruling coalition has approved a 16-point plan making accelerated deportation possible.

'Corrupt' police officer released on 10,000-euro bail
A police officer accused of taking bribes was released on bail of 10,000 euros on Friday.
The suspect, an Attica traffic police sergeant, is accused of taking a 2,000-euro bribe from a tanker truck owner in exchange for making traffic violation fines worth 10,500 euros go away and returning the license of one of his vehicles.
The officer denies all charges.
Three Bulgarian Customs Officers Sentenced for Taking Bribes
More than three years after receiving bribes, three customs officers have been sentenced but at first instance only.
The customs officers worked at border cross checkpoint Gueshevo.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, one of them accepted EUR 150 in bribes in order not to carry out customs inspections.
