Delta strain of the coronavirus is spreading in the largest city, Auckland.
This South Pacific state reported 94 newly infected people today, 87 of whom are from Auckland.
A Reuters report states that since the outbreak of the pandemic, a total of 2.099 cases of infection have been confirmed, 28 deaths among COVID patients and 38 hospitalized.

Sydney ends coronavirus lockdown after 106 days

Elated Sydneysiders celebrated the end of almost four months of coronavirus lockdown on Oct. 11, putting behind them a period of "blood, sweat and no beers" in Australia's largest city.

Sydney's more than five million residents were subjected to a 106-day lockdown, designed to limit the march of the highly transmissible Delta variant.

UK Changes COVID-19 Entry Rules

New simplified travel rules came into force in the UK today, the BBC reported. The current system of classifying the countries from which the passenger arrives has been replaced by a tricolor in one red list. The list is expected to be updated by the end of the week, but Bulgaria is currently among the 20 countries with the highest prevalence of the infection.

Australia to ease 18-month-old border closure ’within weeks’

Australia will begin to reopen its borders next month, the country's prime minister said on Oct. 1, 18 months after citizens were banned from traveling overseas without permission.

Scott Morrison said vaccinated Australians would be able to return home and travel overseas "within weeks" as 80 percent vaccination targets are met.

Slight Increase in Quarantined Teachers and Children in Bulgaria

The coronavirus occurs more and more in schools and kindergartens. Minister Nikolay Denkov reported a slight increase in quarantined teachers and children. A total of 211 school classes and groups in kindergartens in the country are under quarantine, it became clear from Denkov's words.
