NIS - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Monday she saw no victory in a postponement of the constitutive session of the Belgrade city assembly as the opposition had merely wasted the people's time.

Earlier in the day, the session was postponed until March 1 due to a lack of quorum.

Bulgaria's parliamentary session scheduled for Friday faced cancellation as the Parliament Chairman, Rosen Zhelyazkov, halted proceedings due to the absence of a quorum. With only 68 out of 240 MPs present in the plenary during the second attempt, the minimum requirement was not met.

The first parliamentary session following the local elections was abruptly halted due to a lack of quorum. Notably, this setback wasn't confined to GERB members; deputies from the DPS party also refrained from entering the chamber.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has called for an extraordinary meeting to convene the General Assembly of the parliament on Aug. 8, in response to the opposition's request regarding the controversial deforestation of woodlands in western Türkiye for mining purposes.

In the Parliament of Serbia, the session continued, where the topic of replacing the Minister of Internal Affairs, Bratislav Gai, was resumed, but again in the absence of opposition leaders.

She said today in the Parliament that it is scandalous that the opposition is everywhere, in the media, on the street, but they are not in the Parliament of Serbia, where they work and what the citizens pay them for.

The regular sitting of the National Assembly failed after three unsuccessful attempts to establish a quorum in the plenary hall.

The three attempts proved unsuccessful after the deputies from GERB-SDS, DPS, "There Is Such a People" and "Vazrazhdane" did not enter the plenary hall for registration.

Chamber of Deputies Speaker Ludovic Orban announced on Tuesday, after the meeting of the joint Standing Bureaus was adjourned due to lack of quorum, that he will refer the no-confidence motion to the government, pointing out that according to the Constitution, observing the motion debate schedule is mandatory.

Head of the Chamber of Deputies Ludovic Orban on Monday said that he will convene a new meeting of the Standing Bureaus for the motion of censure to be presented, adding that the meeting will take place "at a convenient time," so that a quorum will be met and the legal and constitutional procedures will be carried out.

The ad hoc committee that drafts the Rules of Procedure of the new parliament will discuss a tangible pay cuts for MPs. Some of the proposals provide for the resumption of blitz control of the executive in the plenary. Reducing the monthly salaries of MPs from three salaries to one average gross salary in budget sector, or BGN 1570, is the proposal of "Rise up BG! We're Coming."
