Legendary Turkish goalkeeper recovers from coronavirus
Former Turkish international goalkeeper Rüştü Reçber who was tested positive for coronavirus about two weeks ago has completely recovered.
"Rüştü has tested negative for the coronavirus, fortunately," his wife Işıl Reçber said on social media on April 10.
Turkish World Cup hero Reçber hospitalised with coronavirus
Former Turkish national team and ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Rüştü Reçber is in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, his wife said.
Reçber took on hero status in Turkey as he kept goal at the 2002 World Cup, anchoring his team to the semi-finals and ultimately third place, their greatest ever performance in the tournament.
Terim under fire after poor result against Iceland
Turkish national team coach Fatih Terim was left on the hot seat following a 2-0 defeat against a rising Iceland in a 2018 World Cup qualification group match late on Oct. 9 in Reykjavik.
Even some soft-tongued critics, including former Turkish international Rüştü Reçber, have called on Terim to resign.
