This will be the fifth general election in Bulgaria in two years and will be followed by mayoral elections later in 2023, which will test the centre-right GERB party's dominance in local administration.

President Vui visited the construction site with Radev and spoke with the contractors.

The construction of the gas connection between Bulgaria and Serbia has started on Bulgarian territory. According to the plan, it should connect the towns of Novi Iskar and Nis.

The presidents of the two countries, Rumen Radev and Alexander Vucic, gave a symbolic start to the construction activities on the territory of Bulgaria.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will on Wednesday attend a ceremony marking the start of works to build a Bulgaria-Serbia gas interconnector.

Vucic will also have a bilateral meeting with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

The construction of the gas connection between Bulgaria and Serbia on Bulgarian territory will being on February 1, according to a press release from the presidency.

Direct Turkish investments in Bulgaria exceed EUR 1 billion, almost half of them have received some form of state support through the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA). Over 2,200 Turkish companies have chosen Bulgaria as a preferred place to do business, as they are one of the largest employers in our country.
