President Rumen Radev today held a video conference call with The President of the European Council Charles Michel. Topics from the agenda of the European Union, as well as the upcoming extraordinary meeting of the European Council on 24 and 25 May, at which our country will be represented by the Bulgarian Head of State, were among the highlights of the conversation.

Japan, South Korea and Qatar are countries that will also join the Three Seas initiative, because the initiative's priorities are good energy infrastructure and digital connectivity along the north-south axis in Central and Eastern Europe. 

In his first interview since the appointment of a caretaker cabinet, President Rumen Radev expressed his conviction that "the statehood will be restored" despite "the bombs planted by the government of Boyko Borissov."

He expressed his concern that a third parliamentary election could be held this year.

The Council of Ministers on May 14 adopted a decision proposing to President Rumen Radev to issue a Decree terminating the powers of the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Ivaylo Ivanov, and dismissing him.

The government decision was made in absentia.

The discussion on the declaration lasted two hours.
