Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has condemned the state of emergency decree stating that the Supreme Election Board (YSK) will cease monitoring private TV channels during Turkey's upcoming referendum campaign on constitutional changes.

Turkey's Supreme Election Board (YSK) will cease monitoring private TV channels during campaigns of the upcoming referendum, according to a state of emergency decree published in the Official Gazette early on Feb. 9. The new regulation states that private channels will not have to broadcast in accordance with YSK rules. 

Turkey's TV watchdog introduces new measures limiting terror attacks broadcasting

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has introduced new measures limiting broadcasting after terror attacks. 

In a meeting with representatives of broadcasters on Feb. 1, RTÜK gave information on broadcasting bans introduced with state of emergency decrees and the measures it will take if the rules are broken. 

At least 37 killed in Ankara blast: Health minister

At least 37 were killed while 125 wounded people were hospitalized after an explosion hit central Ankara on March 13, Health Minister Mehmet Müezzino?lu has said in a press conference. 

A bomb-laden car caused the blast, Interior Minister Efkan Ala said at the same conference after a security meeting in Ankara. 

What do you think RTÜK is doing?

My show on CNN Türk was fined 37,000 Turkish Liras by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), by a majority vote. 

The fine was over a program that went on air on Oct. 2 hosting writer Muhsin K?z?lkaya, a deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and journalist Günay Aslan, a member of the Kurdish problem-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). 

Media watchdog model for supreme council of judges

It was two years ago when then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an defended the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) model for the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK). However, this did not happen because it required a constitutional amendment. 

It has not been officially disclosed, but today some are also saying the RTÜK model is being considered for the HSYK.
