Authorities Detain 43 Illegal Immigrants Near Bulgaria's Radnevo

Bulgarian authorities detained on Wednesday 43 illegal immigrants at the dam near the village of Topolyane, located in the municipality of Radnevo.

None of them was in the possession of identity documents and they identified themselves as refugees coming from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The state of emergency declared after heavy flooding in two Bulgarian municipalities this week is set to remain in force on Saturday, authorities say.

Torrential rains in both Galabovo and Radnevo, lying in the southeast of Bulgaria caused rivers passing through the region, leaving a number of buildings partly inundated.

First Investment Bank Buys Major Portion of Assets of Bulgaria’s Remotex-Radnevo

First Investment Bank (Fibank) has paid BGN 8,893 M at an auction to acquire the main part of the assets of bankrupt machine building company Remotex-Radnevo.

Fibank now be able to get back around half of the loan of nearly BGN 16 M which it provided to the company for the repair of heavy mining equipment.

Bulgaria's Energy Minister Predicts Coal Price Increase

Bulgarian Economy and Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev has predicted a coal price increase.

Speaking Sunday in the southern town of Radnevo, he said that the price of coal produced by the Maritsa Iztok Mines would go up from BGN 75 to BGN 77 per tonne of conditional fuel in the new regulatory period.
