Cristi Puiu's film "Malmkrog" won the Grand Prize and the Trophy of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN) for for 2020, at the 50th edition of the UCIN Awards Gala, that took place on Monday evening, at the National Opera in Bucharest.

Romanian film director Jude to be honoured at 49th edition of La Rochelle Cinema Festival

Romanian film director and screenwriter Radu Jude will be honoured at the La Rochelle Cinema (FEMA)Festival, which will take place June 25-July 4. At the 49th edition of the event in France, Jude will be honoured alongside French filmmaker Xavier Beauvois, Lebanese filmmakers Joanna Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, and French composer Gabriel Yared.

Romanian directors Radu Jude and Radu Ciorniciuc awarded at Sofia International Film Festival

Romanian directors Radu Jude and Radu Ciorniciuc were among the award winners of the 25th Sofia International Film Festival that held its prize ceremony on Saturday night at the National Palace of Culture. Radu Jude's "Tipografic Majuscul/Uppercase Print" received the Bulgarian Film Critics Guild Award for Best Film in the Balkan Competition.

The newest feature-film signed by director Radu Jude, "Babardeala cu bucluc sau porno balamuc" was included in the final competition of the 71st edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. According to a press release sent by RollerCoaster sent to AGERPRES, the movie will have its world premiere at the Berlinale.

Romanian Tribute | Athens | To April 12

The Astor Cinema is hosting a tribute to Romanian cinema, presenting the country's best recent films, through Wednesday, April 12. The daily screening program starts at 5.40 p.m. with Palme d'Or nominated "Graduation" by Cristian Mungiu, who shared the Best Director award at Cannes last year with Olivier Assayas. It is followed at 8 p.m.

Bucharest to host 1st edition of Romania's national film festival for the visually impaired

The films "Aferim!" directed by Radu Jude; "Despre oameni si melci" (Of Snails and Men) by Tudor Giurgiu and "Dupa dealuri" (Over the Hills) by Cristian Mungiu are some of the films that have been specially adjusted to be projected in the first edition of Romania's National Film Festival for the Visually Impaired, May 15-19.
