Leading MIT Professor Daron Acemoğlu has received the “2017 Rahmi M. Koç Medal of Science” for his “distinguished contributions to the economic realm globally,” according to Koç University, which presented him with the award on Nov. 22.

Moscow show provides glimpse into modern Turkish art
The State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow has opened a special exhibition project titled "The Bilge Collection" until April 2, providing a glimpse at contemporary Turkish art in the Russian capital.
The exhibition aims to provide an insight into Turkish art through the eyes of Muhsin Bilge (1944 - 2014), a renowned Turkish collector and a passionate lover and patron of art.
Love at the heart of Bedri Rahmi expo in İzmir

Turkey's best-known love poem, "My Mulberry" by Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, is at the heart of the retrospective exhibition by the poet-painter in İzmir's Folkart Gallery.

Turkey's new curriculum to include singers, modern era artists
Turkey's Ministry of Education is planning to include singers and modern era artists in several areas such as music, painting and marbling art in its new draft curriculum. The curriculum aims to introduce the students to the art pieces of renowned Turkish artists.
Fikret Otyam commemorated in exhibition
Painter, writer and photographer Fikret Otyam, who died last year in August, is commemorated in an exhibition in honor of his 90th birthday.
Otyam, who made great contributions to Turkey's social, cultural and artistic accumulation, has left a wide collection of photos, books and paintings behind him.

Turkish engineer, inventor at UCLA receives Koç University's Medal of Science
UCLA professor Aydoğan Özcan has been granted the Koç University Rahmi M. Koç Medal of Science for his work on telemedicine technology that focuses on creating advanced devices that will provide remote and complex services in the field of health.

Narmanl? Han under restoration
While walking down Istanbul's ?stiklal Avenue, it's impossible to miss the striking building on the right side.
The historic Narmanl? Han, which was used as a studio and a residence in recent years, has hosted many artists such as Aliye Berger, Ahmet Hamdi Tanp?nar and Bedri Rahmi Eyübo?lu. The building was also a Russian prison, serving until 1914.
