Late Turkish painter Erol Akyava?'s painting was sold for about 2 million Turkish liras at an auction held by Antik A.?. over the weekend.

The contemporary art auction, featuring contemporary Turkish artists since the 1950s, offered 200 works by renowned artists such as Fahrel Nissa Zeid, Erol Akyava?, Bedri Rahmi Eyübo?lu an Mehmet Güleryüz. 

Istanbul Governor Vasip ?ahin has met with leading figures from the three main religions in the metropolis to obtain information on the activities of Turkey's Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities, the state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Mustafa Koç, the chairman of Turkey's largest conglomerate, died of a heart attack on Jan. 21, the Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital in Istanbul has announced. 

He had been brought to Istanbul's Beykoz State Hospital on the morning of Jan. 21.

Five months after a local court ordered a stay of execution regarding tenders to rent forested bays on one of Turkey?s most beautiful coasts for 29 years, a new tender has been opened to rent out the same areas for 10 years.
