First snow this weekend. According to the forecasters, on the night of Saturday, precipitation will cover the entire country, and in places in the high valleys and lower mountain areas, it will turn into snow. In Sofia, temperatures will range between 1 and 12 degrees Celsius on Saturday, on Sunday they will not exceed 5 degrees.

Bulgaria braces for a sudden plunge in temperatures as a chilling cold front makes its way across the country, heralding cloudy skies and precipitation. Wednesday's forecast indicates minimum temperatures ranging between 3°C and 8°C, with the capital city Sofia shivering at around 2°C.

Although the daily temperatures are still higher than the average for this time of year, with the coming cooling, the weather conditions are in accordance with the season, and by the end of the month more precipitation is expected, rain in the lower areas and snow in the higher areas.

Today, clouds from the northwest will break and reduce, becoming mostly sunny after midday over most of the country. It will remain mostly cloudy along the Black Sea and in Southeast Bulgaria, where mainly in the hours until noon there will be rain, but by the end of the day it will clear up there as well. A light to moderate wind will blow from the north-northwest.

A yellow wind code for the northeastern regions - Silistra, Razgrad, Shumen, Ruse, Varna and Dobrich, was issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) for today.

Unlike yesterday, today will be sunny throughout the country with maximum temperatures between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius, in Sofia - around 12 degrees. A weak westerly wind will blow, in the eastern regions and along the Black Sea - a northwesterly wind, which by the evening will be oriented from the east-southeast.

Amid a severe drought following a scorching summer and unseasonably warm weather persisting across the country until the last month of autumn, weather conditions are beginning to shift with precipitation expected to affect many cities, primarily provinces in the Marmara and Aegean regions, the Turkish State Meteorological Service has said.
