Turkey's fertility rate reached 1.99 children in 2018, remaining below population's replacement level of 2.10, said the country's statistical authority on July 5.

The data on the adjusted property rates used for tax purposes (known as "objective values") that the Finance Ministry released on Tuesday showed that for 946,671 households and 7,126 enterprises, the Single Property Tax (ENFIA) will grow this year by up to 200 euros, or a little more in some cases.

The ministerial decision announcing the adjusted new zone rates at which property owners in Greece will be taxed were announced on Tuesday morning and will be going to Parliament for approval by Wednesday.

The Finance Ministry is examining new strategies regarding the new "objective values" (property rates used for tax purposes), as the plan for two separate sets of values for each property appears to be a nonstarter, while the country's creditors are pushing for an automatic mechanism to revise the rates.
