Realism

Everyone agrees: Dramatic changes in the region (relations between the United States and Turkey, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean) will have a decisive impact on Greece in the coming decades. The conjecture warrants consensus in the hammering out of Greek foreign policy in the face of nascent tectonic changes.

The images you are about to see could easily be mistaken for real photographs shot with the latest high end DSLR pro cameras. But, astonishingly they are actually paintings painted by an extraordinarily talented artist named Zaria Forman! The way she managed to convey such realism on a painting canvas is truly amazing.

Istanbul?s BLOK art space is hosting a new exhibition by South African artist Nicky Broekhuysen, ?The Stonebreakers.? The exhibition is a reference to the 1849 realist painting by French artist Gustave Courbet depicting two peasants, a father and a son, laboring on the side of a road breaking rocks. 

President Klaus Iohannis says in a Facebook post that the most appropriate tribute to the national poet Mihai Eminescu on the latter's 165 years of birth anniversary would be for us to read a line of the great Romanian's poetry, prose or newspaper articles.
