Erdogan: Young generations should re-examine Lausanne Treaty

Turkish President Recep Erdogan continued his provocative rhetoric by calling on younger generations to not shy away from questioning the 1923 Lausanne Treaty, during a speech to local politicians in Ankara. Reminiscing the past glories of the Ottoman Empire, Erdogan said that Turkey had been trapped into signing the 1923 Treaty in order to forget its “magnificent history”.

Turkey's Erdogan Attacks Lausanne Treaty Yet Again

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has raised yet again the issue of the Lausanne Peace Treaty of 1923 and its influence on the Turkish state, stating that since the signing of the agreement, the country has found itself in a "vicious circle".

Erdogan also commented on the topic of the borders of Turkey which shrunk drastically after the signing of the treaty.

Erdoğan: I am the enemy of interest rates

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has once again declared his opposition to interest rates, stating that earning via interest is "a tool of exploitation." 
"I am an enemy of interest earnings. I see it as a tool of exploitation," Erdoğan said on Oct. 20 during a ceremony at the presidential palace in Ankara to mark the financing for two major health projects. 

Turkey raises $637 million in external financing for $1.1 bln hospitals

Some $637 million of the $1.1 billion external funding needed to develop two large city hospitals in İzmir in Turkey's west and Kocaeli in the northwest has been secured, President Recep Erdoğan said at a ceremony at the presidential palace in Ankara on Oct. 20.
