Turkish cabinet to gather under President Erdo?an at Be?tepe for sixth time

With rising security concerns due to attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as well as the ongoing conflict between Turkey's security forces and militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an will chair a cabinet meeting on May 2, the sixth one he has called since coming to power. 

Is it possible for us to reconcile with each other?

The other evening, I delivered a speech in the southern Mediterranean tourism hub province of Antalya at Akra Barut Hotel's grand hall for businessmen.

The theme of the speech, organized by the Antalya Industrialists and Businessmen Association, was "Is it a dream for us to make peace with each other now or is it still possible?"

Obviously there is a problem but?

Are President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu at loggerheads? 

Those journalists close to the president in the "pool media" are openly saying, "Things are not going well for Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu." 

The prime minister, on the other hand, is accusing them of engaging in efforts "to design the AKP through the media." 

US urges Turkey to 'respect editorial freedoms' after Charlie Hebdo ruling

U.S. State Department Spokesperson John Kirby has urged Turkey's government to respect the "independent professional judgment" of journalists, commenting on an April 28 decision by an Istanbul court that sentenced two Turkish journalists to two years in prison for republishing a cover of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo featuring an image of the Prophet Muhammad in their columns.
