Turkey, Italy discuss possible joint measures against COVID-19

Turkish president and Italian prime minister discussed over the phone possible joint measures and cooperation against the coronavirus outbreak on March 17.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan offered condolences to Italy's Giuseppe Conte over the loss of lives due to the COVID-19, the communications directorate said in a statement.

Sakellaropoulou calls for full adherence to instructions on preventing Covid-19

In her first statements as Greece's new President, Katerina Sakellaropoulou called on citizens to follow instructions issued by the country's health authorities to the letter to prevent the further transmission of the new coronavirus which has claimed one victim.

Turkish jets violate Greek airspace in southern Aegean

A pair of Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space on Thursday, according to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), flying over the small island of Strongyli in the southern Aegean. 

The two Turkish F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region without first submitting a flight plan and flew over Strongyli at 24,000 feet at 2.33 p.m., GEETHA said.
