The Turkish government has started the third round of a one-time 1,000-Turkish Lira ($143) cash aid to cushion the adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic on households.

Turkish state-owned banks have started accepting applications for personal loans up to 10,000 Turkish Liras (nearly $1,500) online and via phones on April 1.

A pair of Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space on Thursday, according to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), flying over the small island of Strongyli in the southern Aegean. 

The two Turkish F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region without first submitting a flight plan and flew over Strongyli at 24,000 feet at 2.33 p.m., GEETHA said. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called for "concrete action" to prevent a crisis in Syria's last rebel stronghold in a phone call with his French and German counterparts, his office said on Feb. 21, amid escalating tensions in the region.
