Quake of 4.1-Richter strikes between Kyllini and Cephalonia

An undersea quake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck the area between Kyllini and Cephalonia in the Ionian Sea at around 8 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Athens Observatory's Geodynamic Institute, the quake's epicenter was located eight kilometers northwest of Kyllini.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Police arrest fraudster on holiday island of Mykonos

A 38-year-old man has been accused of cheating tourism businesses on the popular Greek holiday island of Mykonos out of at least 38,000 euros' worth of goods and services, police said on Tuesday.

The suspect, who faced a prosecutor on Syros, the capital of the Cycladic islands, is said to have presented forged bank deposit statements in order to purchase room and vehicle rentals.

135 migrants arrive on eastern Aegean islands in past 48 hours

A total of 135 migrants and refugees have arrived on Greece's eastern Aegean islands in the past 48 hours, authorities said.

Fifty-four arrivals were recorded on Lesvos, 41 on Samos and 40 on Chios, authorities said.

A total of 9,171 asylum-seekers are currently stranded on the islands, according to official data Wednesday.

390 migrants enter Greece by sea in past five days

A total of 390 migrants and refugees have entered Greece by sea in the past five days, the Athens-Macedonian news agency said on Monday.

According to the agency, 157 landed on Samos, 131 on Chios, and 102 on Lesvos - all islands in the eastern Aegean.

Authorities say a total of 9,137 migrants and refugees are currently stranded on these islands.
