4.1-magnitude quake hits Kyllini
A 4.1-magnitude earthquake shook the port town of Kyllini in western Greece on Wednesday.
According to the Athens' Geodynamic Institute, the tremor, whose epicenter was 10 kilometers east of Kyllini, was recorded at a depth of 8 kilometers.
No injuries or damages were reported.

Greek beaches scoop over 500 Blue Flags
A boy slips into the sea in Nafplio in the Peloponnese. Greece's beaches have received the second largest number of Blue Flags in the world this year, behind Spain, it was announced on Tuesday. Greek beaches bagged 515 flags, 12 percent of the total. Most of them went to beaches on the Halkidiki peninsula in northern Greece. [ANA-MPA]

Ferry strike to disrupt Ionian services
There will be no ferry services Monday between Corfu, Igoumenitsa, Paxoi and the Diaponteia islands, as dockworkers walk off the job.
The union of local dockworkers organized a strike this week instead of on May 1, when the rest of the country's ferry boats remained tied up at port.

Migrant arrivals on islands peak as weather improves
The influx of undocumented migrants to the Aegean islands from neighboring Turkey intensified last week as the weather improved, even as reception centers remain overcrowded.
A total of 662 people arrived on the islands of the eastern Aegean last week, compared with 444 the week before that. Overall 1,866 landed on the islands of Lesvos, Samos, Chios, Kos and Leros last month.

Bulgaria was the top destination for Greeks in 2018, according to data released by the Bank of Greece, as there were 2.37 million trips recorded, protothema.grreports.
Turkey followed with 967,000 trips, while from European Union countries Germany had the lion's share with 499,000 trips, followed by Italy with 405,000 trips.

The marginal increase in consumer confidence in Greece has given a small push to domestic tourism and departures abroad, according to booking figures for the Greek Easter period this year.

Rain causes damage in Crete, power cuts in Attica

Man arrested in northern Greece for transporting migrants
A 36-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after police found 12 migrants squeezed in a car he was driving in northern Greece, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.
Officers who saw the vehicle on a section of the Egnatia highway north of Thessaloniki, signaled to the driver to stop but the man sped up to avoid the inspection.
