Greece will open four migrant registration centers in time for an EU summit this week, a government source told AFP on Feb. 16, as Athens comes under intense pressure to control the massive influx to Europe.

The mayor of Alexandroupolis, Vangelis Lampakis, revealed that the government is looking for houses to host refugees and migrants in Evros region, northern Greece in the framework of UNHCR and European Union program.

According to Mr. Lampakis, 86,000 refugees are to be hosted in Evros and other five places of Greece, based on a joint ministerial decision signed recently.
