The Turkish parliament on Nov. 10 ratified a motion to parliament to extend the deployment of Turkish troops in Azerbaijan for one more year.

The main objective for Turkey and Azerbaijan is the continuity of a cease-fire and to bring stability to the region, Turkish defense chief Hulusi Akar said on Nov. 5 at a reception at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Ankara for Victory Day.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will head to Azerbaijan on Oct. 26, his third visit since the liberation of the Karabakh region last November.

Erdoğan will meet his counterpart Ilham Aliyev and attend the inauguration of the Fuzuli International Airport.

The foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan held a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) ministerial meeting on Oct. 14 in Belarus' capital Minsk.

Turkish contractors play a key role in the reconstruction of liberated regions in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told Hürriyet Daily News.

"Armenia should understand that Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen, there is no doubt about that. In addition, our military power will increase. After the war, appropriate instructions were given, new agreements were signed, and the process of purchasing new weapons and equipment based on modern structural reforms of our armed forces have been approved.

The presidents of Russia and Turkey spoke over the phone on June 24 and discussed bilateral ties, tourism, the Sputnik V vaccine, Nagorno-Karabakh region and Syria, official statements said.
