Russia says downed 36 Ukrainian drones over Black Sea, Crimea

Russian forces shot down 36 Ukrainian drones over the Black Sea and the Crimean peninsula overnight, Moscow's Defence Ministry said Sunday.

"On the night of Oct. 29, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using air-type drones against facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped," the ministry said on Telegram.

During the previous day, Russian forces repelled 29 attacks by the Ukrainian army.
The Russian army claims to have prevented an attempt by Ukrainian sabotage-reconnaissance groups to cross the Dnieper in the Kherson region.

Erdoğan backs Ukraine's territorial integrity against Crimea annexation

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reaffirmed Türkiye's stance against the annexation of Crimea by Russia and pledged solidarity with Ukraine's territorial integrity.

"We express in every platform, especially in the United Nations, that Crimea is a part of Ukraine," Erdoğan stated on Aug. 23, speaking via a video message to attendees of the Third Crimea Platform Summit in Kiev.

Russia's defence ministry said early on Friday that it had thwarted overnight Ukrainian attacks on a naval base in the Black Sea and the Crimean peninsula.

"Tonight, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the use of two unmanned sea boats, attempted an attack on the Novorossiysk naval base of the Russian Armed Forces," the ministry said on Telegram.

Russian forces have downed 28 Ukrainian drones over Crimea overnight, Moscow's defence ministry and a local official said on Tuesday.

Seventeen drones sent by Ukraine's forces overnight were "destroyed" and another 11 were "suppressed" by electronic means, Russia's defence ministry said in a statement.

It said there were no casualties or damage.

Medvedev said that world and Russian experience shows that it is impossible to fight terrorists with sanctions, intimidation or concessions.
"They understand only the language of force. Only personal and completely inhumane methods," Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
He says that it is necessary to blow up the houses of terrorists and their relatives.
