The Supreme Election Board officially announced on Tuesday that the early general elections in Turkey will be held on November 1.

When considering the exact date of the elections, the board took into account the approaching winter, particularly in eastern and southeastern Turkey, Anadolu Agency informs.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has said he is confident that none of his party's deputies will accept being a part of an interim pre-election cabinet headed by the Justice and Development Party (AKP), speaking at a press conference in Ankara on Aug. 25.

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has begun reviewing its options after the Supreme Election Board (YSK) suggested Sept. 8 in its election calendar draft as a possible date for CHP primaries. Turkey is expected to hold an early parliamentary election on Nov. 1, in line with an earlier proposal by the YSK.

The holding of snap polls has become very likely after negotiations to form a coalition government failed and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu returned the mandate to President Recep Erdogan on Tuesday.
