A senior lawmaker from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has blamed President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an for the possible failure of the coalition-making process between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Republican People's Party (CHP) while noting the difficulty of organizing early elections.

The nationalist party will back neither a minority government formed by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) nor an election government pledging four temporary ministerial seats to the Kurdish-question focused party, its leader has said. 

Talks between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Republican People's Party (CHP) on a possible grand coalition have ended, with the parties far apart on five key issues, particularly Syria and Turkey's foreign policy.

The pair, however, was also divided on education, social policies, presidential powers and the Kurdish question. 

With the tension across the country rising following clashes between terrorists and Turkish security forces, two of Turkey's opposition parties met to seek ways to calm the situation and issued calls for the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to end its attacks. 

The Justice and Development Party (AKP) has come to a positive phase in their coalition talks with the Republican People's Party (CHP) but will not hesitate to knock on the door of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) if the talks fail, Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Ar?nç has said. 

Coalition talks between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Republican People's Party (CHP) will enter a new phase following a last meeting by respective delegations on Aug. 3, with the two parties' leaders to decide in an encounter likely to take place later this week. 

It's been a year since the Istanbul Convention, a landmark treaty of the Council of Europe (CoE) dedicated to preventing and combating general and domestic violence against women. Although the convention entered into force Aug. 1, 2014, the country has failed to take steps on this road.

The Republican People?s Party (CHP) is ready to make all kinds concessions for the benefit of Turkey, CHP leader Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu has said, pushing further for the foundation of a coalition government instead of heading for a snap election.
