Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and İYİ (Good) Party leader Meral Akşener have held their first meeting since the May polls, discussing potential cooperation between now-defunct Nation Alliance partners for next year's local elections.

Party organizations within the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) are set to undergo audits led by current and former deputies and members of the party assembly, in an effort to gauge the pulse and assess their activities.

The Felicity Party and the Future Party have agreed to form a joint group in the Turkish parliament.

The new group, represented under the umbrella of the Felicity Party, will be led by Selçuk Özdağ, the Muğla deputy of the Future Party. According to the agreement, each party will have a representative as the group's vice-chair.

Amid an internal debate over how the party should restructure itself following the election defeat, the provincial leaders of the Republican People's Party (CHP) have underlined that change should come through new opinions and principles and not through persons.

"We express our gratitude to each and every one of them for their contributions to the CHP," the party statement said.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), has said he will not try to prevent attempts to change the leadership at the party, stressing that his decision to hold the general convention this year is solid evidence.
