A child's body was found on July 29 in Turkey's flood-hit northwestern province of Düzce amid search and rescue efforts for two missing children, a rescue official said.

Search and rescue teams have found the bodies of a woman and a child in a northwestern province of Turkey, with efforts to find two more missing people continuing following last week's flood.

Teams of the Kalofer Mountain Rescue Service conducted an operation to take down three people stranded on Botev peak, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency. The people were suffering from cold and exhaustion, the rescuers said. The three Bulgarian citizens were supported down by the rescue teams. They are now in good condition.

Turkish rescue teams and gendarmerie units continue to search and rescue efforts for an Anadolu Agency correspondent who was swept away by an avalanche in northeastern Turkey on May 10.

Considerable avalanche danger prevails in Pirin mountain, where the showfall was significant and storm-strong winds have deposited fresh snowdrifts on the slopes.

One skier is enough to trigger an avalanche in such locations, the rescue service warns.

Bulgaria's mountain rescue service on 23rd of January are warning of a high avalanche danger in the coming days. The highest risk of avalanches is in Pirin mountain as there is already 30 cm new snow. By Sunday, the snow cover is expected to reach 1 m, reports BNT. 

The weather conditions are dangerous for both tourists and fans of extreme sports and skiing off piste.

The five Macedonian snowboarders who had fallen into a furrow in Pirin were successfully rescued. They were snowboarding and skiing outside designated areas, Mountain Rescue Service (MAS) said.
