Two are suffering from severe respiratory problems

Ljubljana – The season of respiratory infections in children is in full swing, having kicked in earlier than in previous years. There is an uptick in young children who need hospital treatment, including in intensive care. One of the reasons is that respiratory viruses circulated at very low levels during the epidemic due to anti-coronavirus measures.

The National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) has approved, on Thursday, the decision to propose the extension of the state of alert on the entire territory of Romania, for a period of 30 days, starting with September 10.

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports that in the last 24 hours, 28 deaths have been recorded in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Also, two deaths prior to the reference interval were reported, both in August 2021, in Hunedoara and Timis counties. According to GCS, in total, it is about 15 men and 15 women admitted to hospitals across the country.

As many as 48 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 (25 men and 23 women) were reported dead in the last 24 hours, taking the country's death toll to 34,762, shows data released on Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
