The Monastic community is slowly returning to normalcy

Dangling everything from sports tickets to a free beer, President Joe Biden is looking for that extra something — anything — that will get people to roll up their sleeves for COVID-19 shots when the promise of a life-saving vaccine by itself hasn't been enough.

Education Minister Niki Kerameus said on Friday that the reopening of high schools will be discussed in "the immediate future," without however referring to a specific time frame.

Speaking to Skai TV, she insisted that the reopening of high schools is a priority for the government.

The government is reportedly working on a support plan for the economy beyond April, when it is thought that the country will have returned to relative normalcy after the multiple crises triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.

Chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) Calin Popescu-Tariceanu called for the opening of hospitals, restaurants, stadiums and places of worship and for sacrificing the scheduled time for the holidays, proposing that Parliament remain in session almost permanently. "Yes, I am for a return to a responsible normalcy.

There will be a gradual relaxation of the lockdown measures after the state of emergency ends on May 15, Interior Minister Marcel Vela announced on Monday, as he presented Military Ordinance No. 10 that modifies the personal movement schedule for people aged over 65 and extends the suspension of flights connecting Romania to 13 countries.

The first indications from the new government are sending out all the right signals. Tuesday's handover ceremonies at the ministries confirmed a return to normalcy, after a decade-long crisis that painfully divided the country. Both sides should be given credit for the civilized political discourse that prevailed during the change of guard.

This election campaign, seen by many as subdued, may turn out to be one of the most interesting we have ever watched here in Greece. Society and the political system are shifting. It will be very difficult to establish how stable this shift is and how long it will last.

In a message addressed on the occasion of the National Youth Day, Co-Chair of the National Liberal Party Alina Gorghiu says that the young people had a decisive influence on the outcome of the November 2014 presidential election, and that thanks to them, Romania is now walking the path of "respect for the law, of normalcy."
