Turkish products are sent to Syria's Idlib through Cilvegözü border gate

At least 9,880 Syrians in Turkey have returned to their country through the Cilvegözü border gate in Turkey's southern Hatay province in the last three-and-a-half months, Turkish officials have said.

A criminal high court in the Turkish capital Ankara on Feb. 23 handed down 53 aggravated life sentences to the perpetrator of the deadly bomb attack in the southern district of Reyhanlı, which left 53 people dead in May 2013, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Two more rockets fired from Syria have killed a 17-year-old girl, after hitting the Reyhanlı district of Turkey’s Hatay border province on Jan. 31.

Turkey has limited cross-border movements at its Cilvegözü crossing on the Syrian border because the area "has been taken by a group that we consider a terrorist group," Customs Minister Bülent Tüfenkci stated on Aug. 10.
