Today before noon will remain cloudy with snow, more significant in the mountainous regions. After noon from the North the snow will stop and clear sky is expected, late in the Rila-Rhodopes region. Such is the forecast of the time of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), announced the FOCUS News Agency
Archaeological Visitor Centre will be Built in Perperikon
A visitor centre for BGN 3 million will be built in Perperikon in 2019, archaeologist Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov said in an interview with Focus News Agency.
Prevala Pass Re-opened to Traffic
District governor of Smolyan, Nedyalko Slavov, cancelled the partial state of emergency for the Prevala pass (South Bulgaria), the district press office said on 30th of January. Traffic through the pass has been restored, but snow chains are obligatory required. The district crisis management unit monitors the condition of the dams and rivers in the area.

Cloudy Skies, Rain in many Places Throughout Bulgaria, Snow Above 1,000 m
Today the clouds will be considerable during most of the time. Rainfall is forecast in many places, snow in the mountain areas above 1,000 m, meteorologist Boryana Markova, National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, told Focus News Agency. Greater precipitation is again expected in the western regions and the Rila-Rhodopes.
High Avalanche Risk in Rila, Pirin and Rhodopes
There is high avalanche risk in the Rila, Pirin and Rhodope mountains, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency. The weather is cloudy and calm, light wind blowing in some parts. The avalanche danger increases as the weather gets better.

Large Amounts of Rainfall in Southwest Bulgaria, Snow in the Rila-Rhodopes
Significant cloud today with rainfall in many places, at altitudes above 1,000 m - snow. Larger amounts of rain are expected in Southwest Bulgaria, while in the Rila-Rhodope region additional snow will accumulate. In Eastern Bulgaria and in parts of the northern slopes of the Balkan Mountain Range there will be moderate to strong wind from south.
Situation in Smolyan Gets Back to Normal after the Heavy Snow
The state of emergency in Smolyan is still in place on 28th of January, but it is expected to be cancelled today after the situation in the region gradually gets back to normal, reports BNT.
Traffic is one-way through Pamporovo ski resort. Cars are not allowed from Progled to the resort. Traffic from the town is redirected through the Rozhen pass.
Snow Chains are Compulsory for Driving through Prevala and Pamporovo Passes

World Ice Fishing Championship Starts in Bulgaria's Rhodope Mountains
The World Ice Fishing Championship starts in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains. Fifteen nations with the best anglers in extreme conditions are already practicing at Shiroka Polyana Dam. The official opening of the fishing championship is tomorrow, 24th of January. The event is hosted by the Bulgarian Federation of Fishing Sports and Batak Municipality, reports BNT.
