People’s Alliance to continue as long as the nation wants: Bahçeli

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has said his party's People's Alliance with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) would continue as long as the people of Turkey want.

"We did not just form an electoral alliance," he told daily Türkgün in an interview on July 30.

Turkey no longer 'incapable' in foreign policy: Bahçeli

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli on June 15 said that there is no longer a "bowing and incapable" Turkey in international relations.

Turkey does not "wait for somebody's words" while conducting its foreign affairs, Bahçeli said, speaking at the MHP's parliamentary group meeting.

In late March he gave an interview to the far-right weekly Sieci, in which he openly accused the prime minister, his nominal boss, of implementing policies more in tune with the opposition. Mateusz Morawiecki, he said, "is a skilled politician who knows how to convince the PiS leadership to run a policy contradictory to the 2014 agenda".
