More road accidents, fewer deaths
There were more road accidents in January of this year, according to figures released by the Traffic Police on Friday, but the rate of fatalities was lower than that in the same period of 2017.
There were 757 road accidents in January, an increase of 18.8 percent from the same month in 2017, the figures showed.

Eleven people killed on Attica roads in February
Eleven people were killed in 11 road accidents in February in Attica, according to figures made public by the Traffic Police on Thursday.
During the same period, 438 people were injured in 369 accidents. Of those, 14 were seriously injured.
According to a police statement, the cause of most of the accidents was careless driving or violation of the highway code.

157 Pedestrians Killed on the Bulgarian Roads in 2017
157 pedestrians were killed on the road in 2017. One out of every 12 people hit by a vehicle has died, according to the Traffic Police analysis, and 1801 are injured.
In 2016, the figures are 114 and 1729, respectively. Lowering pedestrian control, unsafe risk areas and lack of transport culture are the reasons for this, according to the analysis.
Holiday weekend saw less road accidents
Greek Police (ELAS) statistics made public on Wednesday point to a significant reduction in road accidents over the Clean Monday long weekend compared to the same holiday last year.
This year, the police recorded 90 road accidents between February 16 and 19 compared to 104 in 2017, with four deaths this year compared to 14 last year.

Road accidents kill 13 people in Attica in January
Thirteen people lost their lives and 499 were injured in 432 road accidents in Attica in January, according to Traffic Police data made public on Friday.
Of those injured on Attica roads in January, 17 were seriously hurt, with 482 suffering minor injuries.

Drop in serious road accidents in November
There was an almost 13 percent drop in the number of road accidents that led to death or injury in November last year compared to the same month in 2016.
According to the ELSTAT statistics agency, there were 853 road accidents leading to 53 deaths, 52 serious injuries and 936 light injuries in November last year

9 People were Injured in a Minibus and Tram Accident in Sofia
At 7:30 am a minibus and a tram hit each other at the intersection of the metropolitan boulevards "Nikola Petkov" and "Tsar Boris III", BNT reported referring to the Ministry of Interior. According to initial data, 9 people have been injured, confirmed by "Police in the world and in our country".
